I made that last week hated it nothing like lasagna.  Loved lasagna before surgery.  Not a part of the menu any more.

I think it may depend on the type of Parmesan cheese used. The first time I made it..I used the light cheese from a container/shaker..wayyyyy too salty. Used fresh grated cheese the next time..huge difference! Much less salty and very yummy.

I actually put the ricotta bake inside a portabella mushroom cap. I barely use any parm but it's always fresh not canned and Trader Joe's sauce is a good fit for me.

My wife makes this dish all the time. We like it just the way the recipe tells us to make it, but we really like adding ground beef to it. Yummy!!!

like any recipe it is only as good as the ingredients you use

I have crumbled a tiny little bit of well drained and blotted turkey sausage over the top, yum!

I loved it... you can so change it up and get even .more protein out of it... Like Mike B said with chopped meat!! Yummy but after Easter Sunday dinner I had so much ham left over I figured wth I cut it up in cubs and chucked it in and backed it omg so far that by far was my favorite! !! :-)

Loved the ricotta bake in my purée/soft food stage. Now that I'm at regular food, I might make it again with some meat!
