It's been almost a week now

Since my surgery and I'm trying to get use to my new belly and such. I've been waking up around 8:30 everyday and having my shake right away. Today I slept till around 10 and I showered after I got up. I noticed that when I was in the shower I got a little dizzy, shaky and light headed. I figured my blood sugar was low because I didn't eat when I normally do. I'm having my shake now at 11:20 and I seem to be feeling better. Do I have anything to worry about or is this normal?

Are you still taking any meds that you took before the surgery?  I know a man in my support group mentioned he passed out a week after his surgery because he was still taking his blood pressure meds and he didn't need to be on such a high dose anymore...just that quick!!  Be sure to check in with your doctor if it happens again.  Congrats on being a week out!

Hi there,

I noticed that you are just out of surgery as well. I am 9 days out and having a real tough time figuring out what to eat or drink.  What shakes are you referring to in your message?

Well to be honest I'm trying to find one I really like myself. I use one I got at my dietitians office

http://www.vitaminshoppe.com/p/syntrax-nectar-sweets-double- stuffed-cookie-2-lb-powder/io-1045#.VBTglGSwKwI

and I've been using a Vanilla Isopure which I'm really not a huge fan of but it has a good amount of protein in it and it's zero carbs.

Order sample packs of different products and try them all out. You need to look around and find something you like!

Good luck darlin

This seems fairly normal to me, but if you're concerned, please call your surgeon.

Yeah I probably should. I have my 2 week follow up coming up soon, so I'm making a list of questions and concerns to throw at him. I'm actually not doing too bad with my water! I'm getting the hang of everything I think.

Thank you so so so much!
