HI ok surgery tomorrow are we allowed to have the protien shake or not since it said clear liquid. also taking the Magcitrate @10am today? waiting on the doctor to call me back.

I did broth and water, no meds the day before surgery but it is important you follow your surgeon's specific program.  Good luck!

Hi Zerofat007. My program said ONLY clear liquids 24 hours before surgery, and nothing 12 hours before. It says to stop all meds 3 days before surgery, and that clear liquids have to be sugar free and fat free, no red or berry type liquids, milk products or solid foods. Probably best to ask the doctor though because the plans are so different.

looks like we are on the same plan...i have surgery tomorrow also...no to the protein shake, as it is not clear...

only clear liquids that means you have to be able to see through  it 

isopure should be ok

but always follow your surgeons instructions and never lie to them if you chea teven if you surgery is postponed it is better that having problems with your surgery

I have used magcitrate, it usually works in 30mins to 6hrs.  It is not as bad as ducolax much gentler.
