Sudden pain after taking codeine?!?

I have a virus that is affecting my sinus so the urgent care dr gave me tylenol with codeine today. I waited until tonight to take it because it was supposed to make me drowsy but it's also causing a pressure in my stomach that feels like gas only times 1,000. I feel like a balloon blowing up. Anyone have experience with this situation? What to do?

A couple times early out I swallowed too big of a pill or bite of food and all the sudden I had this  horrible awful pressure right in  my sternum.  It passed after a few minutes.  The only thing I can figure is something just went down wrong.

YES! i had that right after surgery and just 3 weeks ago when i was sick. Honestly, I just did not take it. Instead I got the over the counter tylenol night time and daytime meds and took every four hours. The codeine felt like I was having a heart attack. I never had that feeling pre-surgery. So choices are to either call the surgeon and ask WTF or just don't take it.

Yes, I think it must have got stuck. It was a big pill. It's much better today.
