I am three months post-op and doing well. Total

weight loss of 55 lbs. 41lbs since surgery. Although the last 2-3 weeks I have no appetite. I do get hungry but when I eat it is just a few bites and I am satisfied. This resulted in a 6lb loss this week and 4lbs last week. My average is about 2lbs a week. Should I be worried?  I try to get my protein in but am not making it. I would say I am getting in about half of my protein. Fluids are also a bit low. Wondering if this is just some kind of phase? Has anyone experienced anything like this? Thanks!

I rarely feel hungry, so I make sure to eat my planned meals, and measure out the correct portion of food.  Then I eat it because I know my body needs the protein and energy.  Ditto for drinking.  You need to get your protein and fluids in, whether you feel hungry/thirsty or not.

I rarely get hungry and a few bites takes care of that, having no appetite is good, you need to eat by the clock, meals every 4 hours , and then hight protein snacks for the rest of your protien

you need your protein or you will get sick  drink an extra shake if you need to , or string cheese , jerky

I'm still have to have a protein drink so I can reach my protein goal.  Have no problems with getting my water in.

Very normal and advice from 3+ years out - take advantage of it. Plan your meals and eat when it's time and enjoy life. In a few years you will wish for this stage again.

Not uncommon but leverage this time.  It goes away after a bit.

Also, you need to be sure you're drinking plenty so that you don't get dehydrated.  You need to drink like it's your job because dehydration is no joke!  Additionally, work on getting in your protein.  Keeping your protein intake up will stave off massive hair loss (not stop it entirely), and will help preserve your lean muscle mass.  If you don't eat enough protein, your body will rob your muscles of the protein there.

Totally normal!!! As said above enjoy it will return!!!   I did at 1 point become dehydrated. It was horrible.... don't let it happen to you keep sipping away... have a water bottle with you at all time even when u go to bed ...  scheduled meals is the best way to make sure to get  our protein in..have a shake first thing in the morning and if needed have one at night !!! Good luck to you !!! :-)
