Well it got me!! The 3 week stall!!!! I ran into the surg office to get a note for work and I stupidly decided to hop in the scale...mistake!! I wasn't going to get weighed until my next appt on 10/9 but NOOOOO I HAD TO SEE!! I only lost 2.4 since 9/11...to me it sucks!! Been hiking and walking, tracking every bite on MFP..Believe me, I know from this site that this happens but it really is a shock when you see it!!  On the brighter side..I'm wearing a top I could never wear!! So..I'll take the NSV!! And not get on the scale until 10/9!!

I don't plan on weighing myself very often either, once I get on the losers bench. Thanks for posting this.

Hi, Just a thought.  Often things you think would help weight loss actually cause you to retain water on the short-run, even when making you healthier in the long run.  So hiking and walking could cause you to dehydrate and then your body holds on to water and your weight on the scale goes up.  So try not to worry too much about the numbers on the scale.  There are so many other factors that affect weight other than burning fat.  In the long run, the scale is a good measure, but day to day, not so much.

Keep up the good work.

best wishes,

Carol

Congrats on surgery and our NSV! Don't let the stall (I know its easier said then done) get you down. It is very normal, and will totally pass! Your body is trying to catch up to all the major changes its going through :)

You are doing great. This early on, its all a head game. Do not focus on the scale. I highly recommend taking like a weekly or monthly picture, as well as taking all measurements. Use your clothes as a gauge of loss instead of the scale. Ive been there before and it totally messes with your mind when the scale does not move. I am 9 months out and just over the past 2 months made a commitment to not weight myself for a month given the slower rate of loss as I approach goal.
