Peanut butter (again)
A few weeks ago, I posted about having to remove peanut butter from my house because I was consuming WAYYYYYYY too much. Many of you responded with similar problems and discussion that the sugar was most likely the twigger...ANYWAY, this week I visited with my Bariatrian at the sugery center. I told her about the peanut butter issue & surprisingly she told me that they are considering removing peanut butter off of their approved foods due to MANY pts with the same compliant as mine. Always good to know when I am not alone when dealing with a post-op situation.
Have a great weekend friends !!!!!
Yes I feel peanut butter and all nuts in general are dangerous to
any type diet..people don't seem to realize how many calories are in them..
thank God I became allergic to them 7 years ago..I would be right there with you
in big trouble b/c peanut butter used to be a staple with me, one of my friends consumes it
by the tablespoon and when I tried to explain that that spoonful was probably close to 300
cal. She didn't want to hear it, but shes befuddled by why she can't loose weight...
Nuts are definitely dangerous for me, too. They are a slider for me and I can and will eat just about unlimited amounts. But I do feel like they are healthy in small amounts. So what I do right now is keep them locked in my kitchen safe. I have the safe timer set to open the lock in the morning, when I have less trouble controlling cravings and staying on plan. When the safe unlocks, I measure out my serving (usually 20 grams) and then put the bag of nuts back in the safe and lock it for another 24 hours! I put the serving of nuts aside for a treat at the end of the day or a post-workout snack. So far this is working for me, where just keeping a bag of nuts in the pantry was basically a dietary disaster. I am only eating tree nuts though -- no peanuts in any form!
I just started using it in yogurt and protein shakes. 2T has 45 calories, 5 g carbs and 5 g protein.

I understand exactly what you are saying. I was a "right out of the jar" eater. I gave my last container of peanut butter to my mom and dad when I got back from surgery to ensure I wouldn't go crazy on it LOL.
