Is it possible to...
No.
Food isn't absorbed in your stomach, it's absorbed in your small intestine. Once you swallow food, it only has two places to go---the normal route, where it gets absorbed, or you can vomit if back up. If you can't afford the calories, don't swallow them. (You keep a few calories even from food you barf back up.)
No..
We do drink before meals, because the pyloric valve is open and, therefore, liquid goes right through it.
We don't drink after meals, because the pyloric valve is closed and we'd feel super stupidly uncomfortably full to add more volume into our full stomachs.

I was told by my doc to not drink just right before and 60 mins after.. So therefore I do not drink before or after.. Just assumed that it was like that for all.....
Sadly, lots of docs give outdated information. There is no physical reason why we can't drink right up until we eat due to the way the pyloric valve works. It might be worth asking your doc why they advise you not to drink ahead of time.

It would eventually do the opposite...because you're pushing the food out of the stomach, which means you're going to feel hungry a whole lot faster...which means you'll probably want to snack or graze...which means you'll be eating more calories.
There's really no medical reason to restrict drinking before you eat...but not drinking AFTER you eat is very, very important for the long-term success of your surgery.
Well, if that worked none of us would have become fat -- we just would have had to chug water. Lots of water. If only!
Someone previously asked about chewing and chewing food, and then spitting it out instead of swallowing.
When I think of all the crazy diets I've tried in the past, I have to laugh at myself. Life is so much better now.
BTW - saw your before and after pictures -- you look great!!
