How many Carb and cal's a day???
I had my surgery on 9/23. I never go more than 4 hours without eating. I have three meals and two to three snacks, I was eating about 600 calories per day. At this point don't worry about that, just do the protein shakes, greek yogurt and what ever else your dr approved. Once on the pureed or soft food, that stuff will mater. Right now I'm doing 70g protein, 40g carbs, and 30g fat as I'm on the soft food diet. Hope that helps.
Dan, my surgery was on the same day as yours. Hope you are doing well.

It changed by month:
Month 1 300-600 calories
Month 2/3: 600-800
Month 4/5: 800-1000
Post month 5 until goal: 1200
3 meals, 2 or 3 snacks. Exercised daily 6 days a week, usually an hour or more each day. Typciall exercise was a 4-5 mile walk or an hour on the elliptical. Edit to add carbs: I would eat 15 net carbs for snack, 30 net for a meal as a general rule. If I went lower back then, I had issues with low blood sugar. Nowadays my a1c is creeping back up so I try to drop more carbs

Hi. My plan calls for 5-6 small meals per day. I try and eat them 2.5 hours apart. I am supposed to have between 60-80 grams of protein, but I usually eat 85 or more. I try and keep my carbs below 50 and my calories less than 800, but my NUT hasn't given me guidelines for calories, she told me to focus on the 5-6 meals, the protein and my 64+ ounces of water. Also exercise/activity of some kind 30 minutes per day.

You need 1-1.5g of protein per kilogram of ideal body weight. Keep the carbs under 60g. Eat whatever amount of fat you want, you don't get fat eating fat. Eating fat will actually boost your metabolism, help with satiety, and reduce your cardiac risks.
However, for now stay on liquids, preferably clear ones. Do that for two weeks then go to mushy foods for two weeks. Since you're not getting great surgeon follow-up, let's stick with conservative options on this so ignore everyone telling you it's okay to go off clear stuff earlier.
For meals, try to use a three meal pace with lots of water between. If you need to hit the sugar-free Popsicles from time to time, go for it, use as many as you feel comfortable with. However, try to isolate your protein to the official mealtimes. Go slow and if it takes n hour to get it in then that's okay.
Als, protein shakes count as clear liquids. So do a lot of other foods stuffs with color. The main difference is you're staying away from thicker liquids, like most creamy soups. Again, ignore advice to the contrary since you don't have the best post surgical follow-up.

What does your plan call for?
Mine calls for 80 grams of protein a day, 3 meals a day, no liquid calories aside from a protein shake, and 4 ounces per meal. I don't count calories or carbs, but I avoid refined/processed carbs.

Carbs: Most days I'm under 10g, but sometimes I hit 20 especially if I'm in a yogurt eating phase.
Calories range from a low of 400 to 750. Just eyeballing my MFP reports, the average seems to be around 650.
My doctor's plan calls for 3 meals a day with no snacking, 60g of protein minimum. Sometimes I can get there in three meals plus a protein shake, sometimes I can't so I add a meal.
