Hello, i just had my sleeve surgery on Fri, Oct 10th. I am finding it hard to get in the 60 grams of protein, in fact very hard. I am keeping a journal and marking down everything I "eat". Yesterday I got about 23 grams in and today I have about 18 in so far. I did get some beneprotein unflavored powder but when I add it to my soup it curddles. Does anyone else have this problem?? Any suggestions on protein powder and mot making it curddle? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Sara, Congrats on your surgery. I have found a great protien powder at GNC that comes in many flavors and very reasonably priced. It's GNC brand AMP60. I mix it in everything. It dissolves very easily. I'm currently on my 2 week liduid diet. Surgery is on the 23rd of Oct.

Keep the temp below 140 degrees and it shouldn't curdle.

I love my Premier Protein....I only need to drink 2 per day to meet my protein goal. You can check their website to find out where it's sold near you.

i was also told it's most impirtant to get your fluids in during the early stages. Do the best you can with the protein..you'll get there!

to keep the protein from curdling, make a slurry with a cool ,not cold, room temp or a little warmer first. Then slowely add the warm, not hot broth to the slurry stirring the entire time. You can then heat the whole thing in small increments in the micro to get it a little warmer. Over 140degrees will curdle.

I also use a candle warmer to set my cup on while I am sipping. It helps to keep it warm longer than without it.

Congrats on the sleeve!!! I had my surgery on 10/8. I concentrate on fluids fluids ohh and fluids. I'm sucking down crystal light like its going out of style. I bought unflavored Unjury protein and put it in the crystal light. And I also put it in broth 140degrees or less. The protein intake will increase as we continue on this journey. Keep up the good work.   Zee

Sarah, try putting some protein powder in some crystal light or try another source of protein Syntrax Nectar Whey Protein Isolate powder. Good luck.

I had to learn how hot  the protein would tolerate. If you do not hace a thermometer it is just trial and error but you will learn how to make it work. I had my surgery  few days before you did and I am  also having problems getting all my protein in daily. I decided to  focus on getting all liquids  first and doing my best  to get protein as much as possible, I honestly cannot do both right now.

I would mix sugar free pudding up with protein powder. That is how I got my protein during the early stages.
