3 weeks post-op - a little confused on the pureed foods - any advice would be appreciated
Hi Everyone -
Saw the nutritionsit last Thursday but from now on I think I'll have to ask her to be more specific. She mentioned I could get baby food to get in some fruits and veggies. Haven't gotten to the veggie stage yet but when I read the ingredients on the back it had 12 grams of sugar and 13 grams of carbs is that even allowed? I don't want to screw up. Perhaps I have analysis paralysis :-(
Can anyone tell me what you've done in terms of the fruits and veggies? Does everyone count the calories at this point.
The good news is I've lost 27 lbs. Had a few days here and there w/ no loss but in total I'm digging the number.
Thanks very much for any input.

For ideas on pureed foods, check out Eggface's site - she has a section on pureed foods, and her Ricotta Bake is delicious.
My program calls for 60 grams of protein a day, 800 calories, and up to 40 carbs. Supposed to eat protein first, then veggies, and if there's room, then fruits and carbs.
Yogurt, Wendy's chili is popular with a lot of people, Ricotta Bake, scrambled eggs, creamed soups (strained or pureed), protein shakes. Measure/weigh food always, and journal to keep track of what you're eating.
Fruits and veggies have natural carbs and sugars. I, personally, wouldn't be eating baby food, since I'd rather eat the real thing.
I'm six months out, and I'm happy to eat a few bits of veggies with meals, and I have a few bites of fruit every so often as well.
