Approval?????

My surgery is scheduled for NOv 12th ... I know i did everything that was requred. but I still haven' gotten my approval.  I have Aetna.  I  know the Surgeons office turned all the information in on Oct 17th.   Should I be concerted??

Yes. You should call your insurance company to make sure they've received all of your necessary paperwork and that you've met the requirements.  My doctors said they faxed everything but insurance didn't have it and it really came within a couple days of my surgery date before I got the final okay. Make sure you are doing all the follow-up yourself. Dot all i's and cross all t's.

Like Bellamorte suggested, I'd give the insurance company a call to verify they have your paperwork.  My insurance company told me they had 14 business days to review the paperwork, and they took all of them before they issued the approval.  I actually got my approval late Friday afternoon before my Wednesday morning surgery.  Had to get all the hospital's pre-op work done Monday.

Aetna took exactly two weeks for me, but it took another day or two before the surgeons office. Calling Aetna is a good idea or have your Dr's office call over because they already have a relationship.

PS. Not to bum you out, but I lost a month because the Surgeons office told me they had everything, but they didn't and no one informed me because of vacations and me calling the wrong people.

I called Aetna this morning and they told me they have all the paper work and it is Pending....

When i got home from work tonight.  There was a message on "my chart"...that I was APPROVED!!!!!!!!   So excited!
