Acid Reflux???
Sounds like it's acid reflux, yes. Very common after VSG surgery. You may need to increase what you're currently taking (make sure it's a PPI) or change to something else. I went thru four PPIs before I found one that works long-term. And make sure you take your PPI regularly, every day. Not just when you experience acid, that's not how they work. Good luck!
Yes, it sounds exactly like reflux. The meds you're taking aren't strong enough for you - you need to let your doctor know so they can try something else. I had to go through several different ones before we hit on one that worked (Protonix) and that I wasn't allergic too.
Also, make sure you stop eating at least 2 hours before bedtime and that you aren't reclining at all after eating any meal. It's also OK to pop a Tums or two if needed in between meals to calm things down.
Definitely sounds like acid. I recommend talking to your surgeon.
