Great puréed soup

Ok here's a Portuguese Vegetable Soup (cabbage soup).

 

1 turnip cut into cubes

2-3 russet potatoes cut in cubes

3 carrots cut

1 onion cut

6 cups of water

1 can of cannellini beans (white looking kidney bean) (or any bean)

cabbage or Savoy cabbage (cut into strips)

2 beef cubes or you can use ham bone or bits of ham for flavor

salt and pepper to taste

If you are on puréed foods add everything in pot and boil for 30 min or until vegetables are tender.  Blend vegetables and enjoy.

 

if not on puréed foods:

put all vegetables in pot with water.  if you are using ham bone or beef broth cubes add them with vegetables. Boil for about 30 mins or until tender.  Then you want to blend vegetables.  Add puréed broth back to pot  now add beans and the cabbage coo****il cabbage is cooked.  You can add pieces of ham if you want. 

This has lots of protein and fiber.
