Where were you?

I know this will probably spark a whole debate of "don't compare yourself to others" but I still want to ask. Just curious where I am and if I am still on track with others. I am 4 days shy of being 5 months post op and down 59 lbs. I feel like my portions are on point eating 4-6 oz depending on what I am eating. Vitamins are all on track, I could improve my water intake and I walk about 2 miles a day for exercise. The weight loss has slowed down a bit, which I plan to change up the exercise routine and definitely get back on track with the water. I was just curious where others were at 5 months out? And any tips to get the ball rolling again would be appreciated!!

Why choose to fail, when success is a option?

Here was my graph. At 5 months I was down about 70 lbs, but you can see it leveled off quite a bit after that as I got closer to goal.

Have you tried weight training? It might help get the metabolism moving. I will say it was about this point in the game where things got tougher mentally and physically. Keep working the plan and don't lose sight of the bigger goal. You can get there.

I had lost 85 pounds at five months post surgery.  But I'm a heavyweight and we tend to lose weight faster initially.

I'm approaching 11 months and I eat 4 ounces at this stage.  You might be eating a little too much if you're averaging 4-6 ounces.  Do you track what you're eating using an app like My Fitness Pal?

Water.  Is.  Critical.  I find that my weight loss slows down when I slack off on the water.

I lost 65.1 pounds during my first 5 months post-op.  I was eating three meals a day - one of which was a shake and the other two were 4 ounces of solid foods.

How much protein are you getting?  How much water?

I was a light weight and at 5 months out had lost 62 pounds from my surgery date.

My tip for getting the ball rolling again is to up your protein, lower your carbs and keep your calories the same. That's what worked for me near the end. And LOTS and LOTS of WATER!
