Full after 3 bites

I am 13 weeks post op.  I can only eat 2-3 bites for breakfast, lunch and dinner before I am full.  Regardless of the fact that I think I am more hungry than I am, I only get in 2-3 bites and I feel full.  Is this normal?

I am about 6.5 weeks out and have been feeling more restriction as time goes on. I LOVE IT! I also think I am very hungry and then after 4-5 bites I am FULL! I think that this is normal if you are eating dense protein. I am sure I could eat 3/4 cup cottage cheese if I chose that for a meal.

I am 16 weeks post op and still can't believe how little it takes to fill me up.  I have noticed, though, that there is a big difference in how much I can eat now versus 3 or 4  weeks ago.  I am not saying that I am overeating, Im just saying that I can now eat a whole egg instead of 1/2 or that I can eat a almost a cup of chili instead of 1/3 cup. I'm actually enjoying the fact that I can enjoy a few veggies with my dense protein.  I'm loving the restriction.  My biggest hurdle is slowing down and not eating so fast.  I still struggle with this.

My hardest thing is to not drink while eating.  I try to limit a sip or two but it is still very hard. I understand the restriction, but sometimes it is just a reminder of how far I need to go.  At 13 weeks post op I have only lost 34 pounds

Depends on how big the bites are, I suppose?  At that point I was weighing 3-4 ounces per meal and able to eat that.  How many ounces are you weighing out?

I guess that is the problem. I am not weighing out anything. No one ever told me to weigh my food. They just said the first signs of fullness to stop eating.

I guess you don't read the forums here often, since many, many of us advocate weighing and measuring food.  It's too easy to overeat - especially if you're relying on a full signal!  It's also too hard to know exactly what you are eating if you're not measuring.

I will begin weighing my food. So in total at this stage of 13 weeks, I should be eating between 3-4 ounces in total (veg, protein etc) per meal?  I appreciate your help and tips.

That's what I was doing based on my NUT's guidelines.  I measure out 3 ounces of dense protein and 1 ounce of "other stuff."  If it's something mixed up (like stir fry) I just measure out 4 ounces total.  Sometimes I can eat it all, sometimes I can't.  I take very small bites, chew, and eat slowly - I aim for my meals to take 30 minutes.

Do you find that the food is cold by the end of your 30 minutes? Do you sit there the entire time or do you get up and walk away for bit?  I find it very hard to eat over a 30 minute period. I think my bites are too big and I am getting full too quickly as a result.  I will try to slow it down and take even smaller bites.  Thank you for your advice.
