I thought this was a support site for people getting baratric surgery. Every friend request I send out no one responds, I know I will have questions and want people who have went through this process to lean on for answers. What can this newbie do to get a support team?

Hey, I'm in the same boat. I'm in Tx. Scheduled to be sleeved on the 10th of this month. What about you?

There have been issues with the "Notification" feature in the past, so that may be part of the problem.  I have about 18 "Friends" - but I don't use that feature very often.  I find it more helpful to post questions on the General Discussion or Surgery boards. That way you get responses from a broad range of people.  Also, you can use the "Search" feature (magnifying glass on right side of blue bar at top of page).

I find people here to be very supportive, and there's a wealth of information on these forums.  Just keep posting away.  You can also PM (Private Message) people if you want to ask a specific person a question.

Good luck on your upcoming surgery.  I'll send you a friend request.

I've been on this site for two years, and to be honest... I'm not sure what the "friends" feature is used for - other than if your profile is private, it gives them access to see it. You can message anyone you'd like or post to any forum though if you're looking for support - you don't necessarily have to be "friends" with someone. I know I personally never even see friend requests and specifically have to go to a certain area in my account to even see them... so it's possible people just aren't noticing!

I assume you mean blog posts since this is your first post to the forum?

OH blogs have a pretty poor interface. I don't know that a lot of people read them at all. The best way to get interaction is with forum posts :)

If you've been making blog posts, they're all set to private, which would also account for the lack of comments.
