Day 2 liquid diet - I cheated.

Well I was so pumped up for the start of the liquid diet. Did great day 1. Yesterday, day 2, I cheated. Went all day but then I ate a banana then a piece of cheese and bread. Ended up with a roast beef sandwich and fries. Felt very guilty. Was even rationalizing postponement of surgery. Glad I woke up and and am feeling more positive. Starting over today. Getting back on track today. Lost 3 lbs since yesterday.  Trying to stay honest with myself and accountable. No more slip ups!

Don't beat yourself up.  Just start fresh today and remember the liquid diet is for a reason so try and stick with it.  After about the 4 day, you will be fine.  Good luck.

I hope you truly are back on track.  Your commitment reflects how successful you will be post-op.  If you can't make it through your pre-op liquid stage, how do you think you'll do post-op?

Stick to the program....it is well worth it.

Good luck!

Just curious but how long is your liquid diet? Mine was 2-3 days so it wasn't too bad. My mom is on her's and its 2 weeks. I probably would have cheated too, thats crazy long. Anyway try to pull through it as much as possible.

Shake it off!! You are human and we all make mistakes.  The other poster was right once you get to day 4 you will not be hungry for food.  I completely stayed away from my kitchen the first few days (asked hubby and son to fend for themselves for a few days) so I would not be tempted.  Once the weight starts falling off you won't want to cheat! Good Luck!

Many of us had a weak point or 2 during our pre-op diet. Some blew the whole thing-certainly not recommending that avenue. Your mindset is right, shake it off and start fresh today. Truly, after the first few days it is much better/easier.

I was blessed that I only had to be on a clear liquid diet the day before surgery. It's hard but stick with it, it's worth it. I kept telling myself "I want to be on the losers bench".  You can do it!!

Oh no, I hope day 3 has been a fresh new start for you.  I am on day one, and have 20 to go!!!  My Doctor requires a 3 week liquid diet!

Don't fret, you will be ok. Start fresh pick yourself up and keep going. I too cheated and I was still able to lose 16 pounds on the liquid diet and my surgery went just fine. Use this as a way to defend against your weakness so you are stronger the next time the "hungry monster" starts nawing at your leg.

Thanks everyone for the support! I called my surgeon's office, they said not to do it again but it shouldn't hurt. I have been feeling much better so far today, sticking to the plan. I slept late to avoid cravings and have been doing housework to keep my mind busy. Tomorrows plan is to do Christmas shopping so I won't be bored and thinking about food all the time! Trying to find the positive - fitting into seats, fitting into clothes I like, not feeling embarrassed around people, wearing sexy stuff for my husband ;) I WON'T FAIL! I may have setbacks, but I WON'T FAIL!!!

Thank goodness for OH. I have been reading lots of posts to help me keep focused!
