I am not near goal, so I am only giving you what I've heard in my support group from the dieticians and nurses. - That the body knows when to stop losing, and you don't need to try and gain weight. (again, I think the backfire possibility) Also, give it time and you won't look so gaunt, your body adjusts even if your weight stays the same.

I tooo am BEING TO STOP your getting to small .....

I went from 242 to 137 and my BMI is at 22.3 soooooo no I'm not to small .. I'm a size 3/4 .. it's just that people are used to the old you so their minds haven't caught up just yet .. I bet if someone u didn't know at all saw you they wouldn't say your to small !!! How tall are you... cause at 170 I'm sure your just right for you and NOT to small !!!

Add calories healthy carbs .. to maintain I've been in maintenance now for about 2 months .. I started maintenance at 145 lbs now 137 .. it takes time to figure it all out .... but from what I've been told your body will stop loosing when it has to ... good luck to you... I'm sure everything is fine ... !!! :-)

I had the same problem when starting maintenance.  After trying several strategies, I finally settled on adding an extra meal every day, so I went from 3-meals-a-day to 4-meals-a-day.  I kept the meals about the same size and content (dense protein followed by healthy low-carb veggies)  and this worked pretty well.  Plus, if my weight goes up, I just cut out a meal for a few days until it comes back down.

I did start adding some carbs because I was getting dizzy - I think its low blood pressure, and I found that eating some carbs helped.  I'm still experimenting, but so far, I've avoided the carb cravings.

I view maintenance as another plan with more calories, not going off a diet.  I'm still on a diet, just a bit more flexible.  This seems to be working,  but I think its trial-and-error for a while.

best wishes,

Carol

If you're ticker is correct then you are sitting at 170 lbs.  Honestly, I don't know a single person on this planet who looks "frail and sickly" at 170 lbs. unless they're a man who is over 6 ft. tall.

If you want to stop the weight loss it's very, very simple my dear.  You just start eating more calorie dense food and more of it.  If you're eating 3 times a day, then eat 5 times a day.  Add in nuts, avocado and oils to your plan.  Up your carbs (healthy ones) to 100-120 a day.  For you that might mean that you start eating quinoa, brown rice, whole grain breads.  Not everyone can handle that but you might need it.

You do all this and I promise you - you WILL stop losing weight :-)
