SCOOT OVER.... I'm sitting here now!

Home now! I was afraid I was going to have to spend an extra night since it took me 1 hour 45 min to drink my 4 ounces. Things improved afternoon, got my 4 oz in an hour! You all were right..... sip sip sip and walk walk walk!  My surgeon said everything went great. I had no bleeding, therefore I didn't have to wear a drainage bag. That made me happy. I am still having nausea and the water hurts going down. When I lie down, it seems all the fluids wants to come up

to my throat. Got medication for that. It has been a long journey, scared to death before surgery, especially when

they asked me if I had a living will, am I an organ donor, and sign here if you die, it is not their fault. As they were putting the mask on me in the operating room, I kept praying . Next thing I knew, time to wake up. I am so proud of my new sleeve! So, yes, friends..... scoot over I'm on the losers bench now!  Would love to hear some advice for the coming weeks from you all ..... the experts! :)

Glad you are home! Go easy on  yourself the next few days-walk walk sip sip rest rest repeat. For me the 2nd post-op day was actually the worst-just felt kinda crummy. No advice here, just follow your plan.

My biggest challenge was once I started feeling better and got more active, determining I was psychologically hungry but not actually hungry.  It was caused from 50 years of habits, finishing dinner before my wife, and generally having to change ingrained behaviors.  I'm just over 10 weeks out and I seem to be over that hump.  It really took a conscience effort to be aware and find something to do when those feeling hit.  Good luck.

Happy healing!  Walk and sip as much as possible, and remember that you're recovering from major surgery!

Welcome home!!  Just do what everyone has said...walk, sip, rest, repeat!  I'm 6 weeks out and still take naps as often as I can!  I have learned how important sipping is...if I go too fast...major heartburn!  It feels like my entire chest cavity has been lit up!!  Not good...but not terminal either!  Best of luck...will be praying for you!

Congrats on your good attitude! I'm one week out today. I'm feeling  good. I didn't take in near enough fluids in the first three days and became dehydrated. Had to go to the ER and get hydrated. Drink your fluids! Walk walk walk, and did I say drink?.

Congratulations Karen!!! Yes, at my pre-op appointment with the hospital, they asked me the same thing. I had to provide a copy of part of my living trust. I had my surgery last week, Dec 4, and my first day home was kinda rough. But it does get better. Just remember to take your meds. I'm living off sugar free popsicles! Christine
