I have been very pleased with my weight loss in preop diet and since surgery..... Until.... A week ago Friday when I started regular foods.... My weight loss has come to a screeching hault.  I don't consider it a stall because it happened the day I started eating "real food" I am getting my protien and fluid goals - activity has increased since preop but trying to increase it more.

My my question is did this happen to you? How do you break through it? How long will it last?

I had my surgery the day before you. I lost about 24 lbs. from presurgery diet until December 4th. I then stalled for the next 3 weeks. I just started losing again this past week. Dropped another 6 lbs. I was only on liquids for 1 week after surgery, then pureed for one week, then soft foods. So I guess you could say my stall began the week I started soft foods. Everyone says just stick with it and make sure you get your water and protein in. Good luck! I think everyone is different as far as how long it will last. I ate some different foods this week because of Christmas and my schedule was different. I don't know if changing it up a bit helped break the stall or not. Hope yours doesn't last long!

Hey there :) This is totally normal! It is just your body adjusting to the major changes it is going through. I hit my 1st stall at 3 weeks (I think I started mushy solids at that point) I believe, and it lasted around 7-10 days. But don't worry at all, as it is only temporary. Just stick to the plan, and the weight will start falling off again. Big congrats on surgery!

Search the forum for 3 week stall. This happens to almost everyone, and almost everyone (even if they were aware it could happen) has a bit of a freak out. I know it's no fun to hear it, but just relax, the weight will come off. You've just been through a major surgery, and stalls are going to be inevitable. Each month, I usually have 3 weeks where I lose and one week where I don't.
