Following this forum, I have learned that doctors have different diet plans and my doc is no exception.  Thing is  now that I am ten days out I'm suppose to start phase 3 whi*****ludes puréed foods. Can't help wonder if it's ok. Can you guys share your plans or experience? I'm a little skeptical to start on muchies after only seven days of full liquids. Please help.

By the way I saw my doctor yesterday and I have lost 14 pounds since surgery date on 12/29/14 wow!

I started pureeds after 10 days, and had no problems.  Take is slow, and if you have any difficulty, hold off another day or two.  Check out Eggface's blog - she has some delicious pureed recipes, including her ricotta cheese bake - yummy!

You're right, there are a variety of plans, going on pureeds ranges from one to two weeks post-op.

I started on mushies at about the same time (pudding, baked ricotta cheese, cottage cheese, etc...) at about the same time. I had no problems. I was allowed soft solids by about 14 days or so. I remember I got to eat a scrambled egg just around Christmas. (sleeved 12/07/11) That's when I knew what restriction was! LOL!

You should be fine. Just make sure you measure your portions and never go over!

I was sleeved on 12/30. I have 2 more days of clear liquids and will then advance to full liquids (cream soups, protein powder with milk, etc.) After 10 days of that I can advance to pureed foods.

Stick with what your doctor ordered; I'm sure they know best.

Oh wow!  My doc wanted me on clear liquids only two days!  Day three I started full liquids for only seven days.

It sounds like your doc has the same eating plan as mine does Julie.  I am now just over 6 weeks out and down 39.5# since surgery. Just go slow, take small bites (I still have a problem doing both of these), and chew chew chew.

Good Luck!

I started purees at 2 weeks and I would have LOVED to have started earlier.

Your plan seems similar to mine. I'm gonna be on pure es three weeks.  Honestly I dont think I would have been able to last two weeks on clear liquids. 😳
