Daily Goals

I was sleeved a little over 2 months ago.  The first week was absolutely horrible!!  I have never felt so bad in my life and I have had a few experiences.  So many people were posting just out of surgery and in my room the day of or after surgery... not me.  I was seriously thinking something was wrong I felt so bad.  The first couple days I couldn't even keep water down, I didn't want anything...  just not a good experience.

BUT... I've spent the last 2 months trying to find my groove... I felt like I was failing... I wasn't meeting my daily goals.  If I got my protein I was short on fluids, if I got my fluids I was short on protein.  I was not finding a protein shake that I liked.  I would make myself drink one because I had to but I was still trying to find one that I actually liked.  Same with vitamins...  So, I wasn't getting my protein or my vitamins.  I lost weight, but I really just felt kind of blah...

I've read post after post about people saying if you stick to the plan you will lose.  I wanted so bad to be on point and hit all my goals, but I just really felt like I couldn't.  I was trying so hard to find what was going to work for me.

NOW for the past week I have been hitting my daily goals (every day) and I feel AMAZING!  Imagine that.... sticking to my surgeons plan and feeling great!  Not to mention watching the scale go down. :)

My goals per day are:

Less than 40 carbs
At least 80 g of protein
65+ oz of fluids
Take all my vitamins
Exercise

Simple.... 5 little goals.... (That's what I tell myself)

Since I have started logging EVERYTHING using the Fat Secret app, it has made it much easier to see what I am putting in my body.  I normally stay around 20 carbs.

Have a great Monday!

Way to go!  So glad you stuck with it and found your grove.  Not everything is textbook.

No, it really isn't.  Before surgery I thought I was really ready... and I was, but it was a challenge.  Now I feel great and I don't want this feeling to ever go away so I want to stay focused even more! :)

Thanks!

So happy you are doing better. It's definitely a learning lesson. Keep up the grove.

Congratulations!

You know what?  This tells me you're so, so STRONG. Because it wasn't easy.  You had to get up every day, slog through, feel like crap and you STILL stuck with it.  Be proud of that!
