Had my surgery Tuesday  the 13th. How long does this pain last  in the stomach area .  I  have an incision about 2 inches  long under my right rib. I thought this is where they probably took the stomach  out and removed the gall bladder.  As  long as I don't move,  I feel great but  if I try to get up or stand for more than 10 min, the pain becomes unbearable . I have one more bottle of liquid Lori tab , but I really was thinking I shouldn't need this anymore. What about everyone else? How long did your pain last and was it this bad?. I would say when I'm sitting still it's a level  2 but when I move it quickly goes to a 9-10

I had that pain on movement for about 2-3 weeks. It didn't hurt me to keep standing though, only to stand up in the first place. Keep taking your painkillers as long as you need them but if you are concerned that there might be something going wrong, definitely check in with your surgeon's office.

Thank you. That makes me feel better. I was beginning to think I was being a pansy. Lol I can tolerate pain pretty good. I just was thinking I should not be in pain anymore

I only needed to take pain killers for the first 3-4 days post-op and then it just hurt if I moved weirdly.  But.. we all react to pain differently, so take your pain meds as long as you need to.  Don't try to be a hero!
