birthday pic nsv
Hello everyone! So I celebrated my birthday on Saturday and as usual, I asked friends to take pictures. Sure, everyone complimented me and the ones who haven't seen me say they almost didn't recognize me. I took the compliments gracefully, thanked them and thought nothing of it. I was thinner than this a few years back (about 10 pounds less) and I'm still very far from my first goal. Then when the party started winding down I looked at the pictures and was a little taken aback. There I was, next to my husband who was always thin (albeit, he gained about 20 pounds after quitting smoking, which I think he looks better now)...and I actually looked smaller than him!!! I don't recall ever looking smaller than my spouse! Usually I would see our pics and see a huge woman taking over the whole screen with a poor little man squished in there somewhere! I don't know, it was a real shocker to me. I'm losing weight in parts of my body that I could never lose before. So it's like I'm seeing myself like never before! Anyway, my loss is fairly small compared to some of the amazing success stories here but I was too excited not to share :)
This is super awesome. I had a similar experience on Sunday - I went to race with my bff and her husband. My partner took a picture of the three of us before the race and, when I looked at the picture I thought, "Wow. I actually look... normal sized!" I've never, ever had that thought before.
I'm still technically obese. I weigh 40 pounds more than my bff. But look at that picture... wow. What a feeling that was. Totally awesomely amazing.
