How many calories do you eat in a typical day?

What, exactly, are you eating?  Can you paste a couple days of food logs for us?

My plan doesn't have me focus on calories - I'm supposed to focus on protein (60+ grams) and liquid (64+ ounces).  I'm also supposed to only have three meals a day and it's hard to overeat when my meals are only 4 ounces!

My docs plan is similar so far Gwen. We aren't calorie counting...yet. (But I'm still on soft food). Max half cup, protien first 60+, 64+ water.

Of course, that might all change in two weeks with regular foods up to play.

Sounds like far to many calories for 3 weeks out..... I remember being about 3-400 at that stage.

1200 cals a day is a starting maintenance baseline for many.

Many (means not all) people on 1000-1200 cal plans never make goal without cutting way back to 600-800 (which is very hard to do).

**** Follow your doctors instructions.

I am also between 700 and 1000 cals a day.  I am 5 months out and I am losing at a rate that I am happy with.  The only time I ever had a stall was the entire month of January.  I had added quinoa and faro to my menu and even though I was eating 600 to 800 cals a day and I was getting my protein, I stopped losing.  I finally decided that at age 60 I will not be eating any starches or grains again. Ever.

That's fine.  I can enjoy myself eating meat, veggies and berries and an occasional legume meal.  If my scale gets stuck now I just do a day of egg white and spinach omelets.  It really jump starts me.

I was at 600 - 800 for most of my losing phase and I work out ALOT.

Now in maintenance I shoot for about 1300.  I would definitely look at cutting down the carbs a bit, focusing on protein, getting lots of water and if you aren't already incorporating exercise daily.

The stalls happen -- just keep chugging along and you will get through it.  :)

Just a quick update as I had an appt with my Nutritionist this morning.

She is happy with what i'm eating, and said that my calorie consumption is on par with what they like to see - WHEW, sigh of relief. She wants me to up my protein by 20g though :)

Thanks for all your comments!

I definately saw less weight loss if I wasn't getting enough protein even though my daily calories were about the same. I was going to say your protein intake seemed a little low.  I bet the 20 gram increase will do the trick.

At 3 weeks out I was eating about 400 per day. Now at 5 weeks I'm about 650-700 per day.
