Hi guys hopefully you can be of some help yo me. My surgeon's preferred nutritionists office does not accept any insurance and the visits are getting extremely pricey for me. Does anyone know the allowed foods on Dr. Sosa's puree diet?

No. He "doesn't deal with food" you have to pay the nutria its before they will give you the next part of the diet. I know that it's puree but I don't know his allowed foods

Wow.

Did you not get a list of your diet progression with your pre-op paperwork?  Can you call the nutritionist's office to get a list without an actual appointment?

No. Mostly the pre op paper work was consent forms. To be honest I didn't focus much on the post op requirements during the process because I thought that there would be a 6 month wait for nutrition visits. It turned out that I didn't have to do that, and from there the process went so fast. As for the nutrionists office. They don't acce any form of insurance and I tried asking the staff for the requirements and they won't give it to you unless you pay to have an appointment. I'm going to get a nutrionists through my insurance but I'm worried that they won't be familiar with the bariatric post op diet.

Sucks that they won't give you a list. There are surgeons who post their lists online & *most* I've seen tend to be the same. I suppose in your shoes I would use one of those and ask before I made an appt with a nutritionist whether they have experience with new post ops.
