Sleep Apnea question

Before surgery, June 25 last year, I had a sleep test that showed I had sleep apnea. I knew I did, though, because it woke me up often at night and my husband told me I snored, which I had never in my life done. This began when my weight went above  200. Now, I don't think I have it anymore. I sleep extremely well all night long and I no longer snore. I have not had a new sleep test yet but I really don't think I have it anymore. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

Good for you, and congratulations!! I had sleep apnea and used a CPAP machine for 4 years. My surgeon said the sleep apnea would go away once I lost weight, and he sent me for another sleep study when I hit 180 pounds. It showed that I no longer had sleep apnea!! Isn't it nice to sleep without the noisy machine and headgear? YEAH!

Congrats! Don't just toss your machine and mask, though - get another sleep test first. I know they're miserable, but untreated sleep apnea can kill you, so be 100% sure it's gone before you give it up. :)
