Post-surgery questions

I'm 8 days until my surgery date. I remember after my c-section (years ago), that lying down was really uncomfortable for a couple of weeks. I'm worried about that happening. After my c-section, I slept in my recliner. However, I don't currently own one (well, I've ordered one, but it's not in yet). So, I'm thinking of getting a wedge pillow. I was wondering if anyone has used one and has recommendations on comfy ones that may help me post-surgery.

Thanks for any help with this!

If you're having laparoscopic surgery, a recliner shouldn't be necessary.  I was sore, and muscles pulled and twinged every now and then, but I had no problem getting up and down.

I agree with the last post, the small cuts they do now do very little damage to the muscles so you will be much more comfortable than your C-section.  I took my own pillow to the hospital (I hate those nasty flat ones they have) and I put it over my tummy for the ride home to reduce the pressure from the seat belt.  It was the best thing I did.

Holy cow this is much easier than my c-section. My c-sextion was in 2006, my VSG was 8 days ago. I am a side sleeper and haven't yet been able to comfortably do that yet, but I'm close. I sleep in my back, normal pillow since I have been home and it has been comfortable.

I am also a side sleeper, I took an extra big fluffy pillow and put it between my knees when I turned on my side.  It kept some of the pressure off my tummy and made the side position more comfortable.
