Well, I got through the tests and the pre-op diet and am finally at the point of surgery.  I'm not afraid of getting the surgery, just nervous about being able to follow the rules down the road.  I know that I will do my best.

Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers while I go through this transition.

Hello Mary! I will definately say a prayer for you. You are half way there! (The pre-surgery classes, tests, etc. are half the battle). You should be fine following the rules, as your sleeve will help to keep you honest in the beginning, but if you are having problems reach out to your doctor, nut or the folks here and you will get the support that you need. (The vets here were very helpful to me.) Time goes so fast afterwards! I had my surgery last November and it feels like a lifetime ago.  Good luck to you and God Bless!

Hi Mary!

I wanted to congratulate you on getting thru the pre-op part of this huge journey. I am still in the midst of all the testing!

I believe one of the benefits of going thru the pre-op hoops is to prepare us for post-op. I have learned a lot from my NUT, and eating protein 1st & at all my meals has really cut down on my hunger thus helping me comply with the program and lose weight.

Keep us posted on your progress! I for one love reading how ppl do the 1st few weeks after surgery.

Blessings!

Kathy

Here's hoping your surgery, recovery and long-term weight loss will go smoothly and result in a healthier, happier you.

I think most of us have these fears pre-op.  And most of us, at least the ones that stick around, tend to be successful :)

Thank you all for your prayers, good wishes and encouragement.  It really helps to know that you've got others rooting for you.  That's what makes OH so awesome.
