I aim for 96 ounces a day, since I exercise a lot.  My body is pretty good at telling me when I need to drink more these days!

In general, I do not increase my food intake to compensate for exercise.  Although, I have started experimenting with pre-run fuel now that I'm training for a 10k.  (But I'm talking about fuel for running more than 90 minutes at a time, I don't eat anything at all if I'm running less than that.)

I would up lean protein as you do not want muscle loss. Maybe an extra protein shake?

My nutritionist says increase by 200 calories per day if I'm exercising.  I don't always do it but I find my appetite increased.
