29 days to my surgery - whoo-hoooppp! Going in for anaesthesia pre-op tomorrow. My boss wants to know: how long will I be out??!!  TIA!

I'm 51 years old, went back on week 3 but at just 30ish hours instead of usual 40 hours. I would have liked to have gone back at 40 hours that first week but my doctor didn't have appointment times available that supported that.  But, in the end, I was glad to have lighter schedule that first week.  On week 4, I was back to full schedule with pretty normal energy.

Enjoy!

I had surgery on a Monday and went back to work the following Monday.  I felt like I had a really easy recovery... Felt horrible first 3 days, and then just felt great once I got over that little hump.  (I am 48)

My doctor allowed 6 weeks. I went back after 5 weeks. Was tired but did my 40 hours.

I took 8 weeks off.  I had std and wanted to spend time getting into a good routine.  I could have gone back earlier, but appreciated the extra time.  My job also required me to travel out of state 4 days a week, so it wasn't a standard office job.

depends on what you do

desk job around 2-3 weeks is best , if lifting more than 10 lb is required 6 weeks

till your on solid food diarrhea is a major  problem after that the dreaded constipation kicks in

I was 56 when I had surgery.  I took a little more than two weeks off, only because Labor Day was in there and I had my 2-week follow up with the surgeon the day after.  I did, with prior permission from the surgeon, work from home a couple of hours a day the second week.  I was quite tired the first week, but by week two it was better.  Standing was the only thing that wiped me out at that point.  Good luck!

I'm 54 and took 3 weeks.  Probably could have gone back at 2 weeks.  I felt great and have a desk job.  But, took the extra week to make sure I had a good schedule going.

I took 6 weeks off.  I wanted to be in a regular routine on regular food before I came back.  Physically, I probably could have been back in 2 weeks.  But I had the sick leave, and I used it!
