A different sort of NSV...

As a heavy person, my glory was my hair - long, dark, thick, curly hair.  One of my biggest fears with WLS was the hair loss.  I'm just past the six month point and I've been losing HANDFULS since February.  Luckily, I had a lot to begin with, but I was noticing the thinning a great deal.  The ends looked terrible...I could FEEL the wind blowing over my scalp (I could barely SEE my scalp before).

Last night, I got my hair cut, and my hairdresser, who has seen me for years, commented on all the fuzzy undergrowth he's seeing. "You've got a whole HEAD FULL of hair growing back in!"

So, I call victory.  My hair is coming back. :)

Nice!  That's a great sign that in 6 months your hair will be back to "normal" and looking glorious again

Yes, Tracy!  I'm very excited.  I've cut it short for summer (shorter than I've had in YEARS) and it's cute and looks healthy.  I was so, so nervous!!

You're so right.  I was starting to feel like people would look at me and think "yeah, she got skinny...but look at what happened to her HAIR!"

I'm right there with you! Tons of new growth! I have to tame it everyday with pomade!

Hahaha!  Pomade! That's awesome. :)  What do you use?  Because mine is so curly, I have a love for Moroccan Oil on my "no wash" days.  That tends to keep my fuzz tamed.
