Tomorrow I hit my 4 weeks post op.  So far I have lost almost 20 lbs and thats it.  I havent lost anything since last week.  Has this happened to anyone>  I really do not like this feeling...

Yep, happened to me. I am a model WLS patient (liquids, protein and vitamins) and I just broke through a plateau of 11 days. I was stuck at 240 that whole time and just this morning I was 236.3 which brings me to a 26.7 loss since my surgery date of May 6. The scale WILL relent.

Search the boards for "three week stall." Pretty much EVERYBODY goes through it.

The rapid loss you see at first will NOT continue, things slow down quite a bit and then it's slow and steady to goal.

Besides, could you have lost 20lb in a month (and kept it off!) before surgery??

I  think your case is text-book.  I lost 21 pounds my first month post-surgery and I stalled in the third week, too.  this is really common.  20 pounds in 4 weeks is a good rate.  You are doing great.

Everyone will lose differently. Most people will have stair steps. Lose a little, stay the same for a while, then lose again. After looking at my journal I have noticed a pattern in my loss.  EVERY month I will have a stretch of 8 to 10 days where I do not lose anything. During that time I may even go up a pound or two. But my weight loss starts right back and I will lose 15 to 20 pounds over the next 3 weeks.

You are doing GREAT at 20 pounds in one month.  Just keep on plan and the weight loss will start again. During these times of no loss is when I notice the most difference in the fit of my clothes. Maybe use this as motivation when the scale is not cooperating.

Is this a Revision?  You say you've lost 20 pounds and ticker shows 31 pounds to go?  Stalls at three weeks is the norm.  Plus as you near goal, weight loss slows.

I'm 4 weeks post op too and I'm at a standstill according to the scales.  But my clothes are hanging on me and I'm thrilled!  I haven't measured myself yet because I only considered the scale as a weight loss indicator.  But I'm definitely going to do it soon.  I've lost a total of 30 pounds with my 6 month required diet, pre-op diet and post op.  Hang in there and you'll find little hidden successes in losing inches.
