Better for what purpose? If you need more protein and lower carbs, go for peanut butter. If you need fewer calories and more fiber, go for strawberries. It really depends on you and what you are looking for.

I eat strawberries pretty regularly, they don't hurt me or impede my weight loss. Same is true for peanut butter, but because it has so many calories, I have to really watch what I eat and cut back here and there to make up for it.

How about a couple of strawberries dipped in peanut butter?

Hi Tia,

I'm two years out, and I eat both strawberries and peanut butter occasionally.  I'd suggest both in moderation.

Strawberries. Don't get me wrong, peanut butter has some protein and no carb, but it is so calorically dense and with only a bit of protein it totally isn't worth it.

I love both. PB is not a weight loss friendly food, IMO. However, it doe**** the spot on occasion! As fruit goes, strawberries are on the top of my list! Low sugar, low carb, low cal, and when they are ripe, oh so good!

It really depends on the purpose of the food. If you need bulk and satiety may I suggest strawberries with a couple of TBS real cream poured over them and a couple tsp. of Truvia? Also, 1/3 cup of strawberries or blueberries or raspberries with a little whole fat Greek yogurt is one of my go to snacks. It's pretty damn tasty!

always go with the fruit , healthy carbs vs saturated fat in pb

there is pb2(powdered peanut butter that is fat free I think )

If you rarely eat fruit, then go with the strawberries as you are likely more deficient on nutrients that typically come in fruit than in what's in the peanut butter.

If you go with the peanut butter, have it with some whole grain crackers or bread - vegetable sources of protein like peanut butter are incomplete in their protein profile and need to have a complementary protein source (such as some whole grains in this case,) to provide all of the essential amino acids that we need.

Thank you for all the great answers!

I kbow  tap of pb takes care of any occasional cravings. I think I'm looking for something on that rare occasion as a snack. So I agree...berries would b the better option.

Thank you all.

I'd always go for whole fruit before peanut butter, but I eat both occasionally and do fine. I am only a year out though, so ymmv!
