Deep depression

Unfortunately, you are not going to make any weight loss goals eating crispy creme doughnuts  - get real, be serious!  Sorry hun, but really.  Eating donuts will never cut the mustard.

Duodenal Switch is optional.  You decide if you want to lose weight or not.  You decide if you want more WLS or not.  The point is you will not get better untill you do better . . . even with additional surgeries.

Make sure you are getting help for your depression.

Best,

Layla

Its my emotional side which is throwing me off. I always feel like losing two pounds a week is not enough. Everything I do I feel is not enough

Could you have lost two pounds per week before surgery? And kept it off? Think of it that way :)

You are enough James!  OA meetings are free!  Don't know where you live but in NYC we have research studies that will give participants free treatment like psychotherapy or meds or nutritional support.  We also have universities where student therapists see patients super cheap.  So check with your state.

If you go to OA or FAA or any of the 12 step program, you will find lots of support.  You need to let your voice out.  You need to let people support and embrace you and you will do the same for them.

Please please please check with your city and find out what free options are available.  Call hospitals around the area for free counselling programs, and if there is a college near you with a psychiatric school you can contact them for free options from students.  Not having insurance doesn't mean you can't get some help.  And if you are spiritual definitely seek out your religious leader for some soul guidance.  All of this should help you, hopefully, with your head hunger and anxiety.  You HAVE to get that under control before you have surgery again.  You can do this.

The DS is a great surgery, especially if you have a large amount of weight to lose.  Unfortunately with all WLS you will absorb simple sugars 100%.  It's too bad since a lot of us have a problem with them.

If you can't afford counseling having you considered a support group like OA?  I am sure you can go online and Google some kind of support group in your area.  Dealing with food issues along with WLS will give you your best chance.
