Honeymoon Period?? Calories?

I was staying 600-800 calories but my doctor said at my one month post-op she would prefer me to be in the 800 range.

With RNY there is a "honeymoon" period because they've got malabsorption that goes away after the first 12-18 months.  So you've got to take advantage more of the time when you still have malabsorption.  

For us, we don't have that.  However, we do have a slow decay of willpower and diet compliance.  The further out, the less positive feedback we get, the slower our weight moves, the more tempted we are to cheat.  All of those things make it harder to lose the farther away from surgery we get.  That's why it's SUPER important to work on the head stuff while the drive and will to comply are strong.  

I don't count calories - my surgeon's plan stresses proteins, meal sizes, and liquids, so I track those things.
