Refuse to buy NEW clothes

Well after losing 38 pounds I dropped a pants size and a shirt size. I made the mistake of buying a new pair of pants a month and a half after surgery.  I ended up returning them because they were too big. So I knew I couldn't buy NEW clothes until I reach my goal. So I found a fantastic second hand store with beautiful name brand clothing. I spent about $28 for 5 pair pants and a shirt.  I received so many compliments on my those clothes!  So my advice to any newbie on this weight loss journey.....don't go out and buy NEW clothes and spend unnecessary money.  Loving my new wardrobe for less!

I have a few local thrift stores that I visit frequently, and eBay is another good option if you know what sizes and brands work for you.

I like thrift stores and cheaper options, but there's something to be said for treating myself to something new and amazing that fits well every so often :)

Except for underwear and bras, which I always buy new, I'll scrounge for whatever fits. I saved some of my favorite smaller size clothes on my upward weight trajectory. I'm now wearing those clothes plus a few of my large size clothes that I can still decently get away with. Woman Within and Just My Size have some relatively inexpensive clothes to fill in the gaps.
