A little down...

10 weeks post-op and 62 pounds down. I should be happy. For some reason I'm so down right now. I think all the excitement from surgery is gone and I'm needing to be re-encouraged. I have more energy to do things but this week I've just hid out and stayed in my house. I need to get out of this funk!

You don't have to be happy all the time. We all get a little down sometimes, for absolutely no reason at all. If the funk lasts longer than a week, check back in here, and we'll start scolding you!!

Thank you! I just needed someone in my corner I guess.

Even though you've lost a lot, you've been working really hard, and haven't gotten a lot of the benefits yet. As you pile up more and more benefits from the lost weight, you'll appreciate the hard work more.

Keep at it. You've lost more at 10 weeks than I did.

First of all, Congratulations on being down 62 pounds.  That's excellent.  Way to go!

I remember how before weight loss, I'd think that if I lost weight everything would be wonderful, and of course that is not realistic.  Life I a series of challenges, and that doesn't change.  Also mood swings are common with massive weight loss.  Hormones are stored in the fat cells and they flood the system with rapid weight loss.  So its a roller coaster early out.  Just try to enjoy the ride and know that it will pass.

I also remember having more energy and still feeling reclusive as I was when I was heavier, and it left me at loose ends.  But this worked out - just one of those challenges of life.  Trust yourself.  You'll get thru this!

best wishes,

Carol
