So I'm just curious and this might be a dumb question but what exactly should I be looking for on food nutrition labels? How many grams of fat, sugar, carbs and protein should I check for?

I know anything with low sugar is okay and high protein content is good. I just don't know about everything else. Help please! :)

While losing, you want to really prioritize protein. You need protein, and your energy should be coming from burning fat. So a good rule of thumb is, a food should have less than 10 calories for 1 gram of protein. So 23 grams of protein in 130 calories is great. 12 grams of protein in 260 calories is not very good.

That was my approach too. I didn't worry about anything except looking for ways to packing in the most protein for the least calories.
