Hair loss.....

PLEASE tell me my hair will grow back!!!  Fortunately, I started with a TON of hair.  Now it's down to "normal" hair.  And it's still falling.  I supplement with protein shakes and hair/skin/nail bariatric vitamins twice daily but it's not seeming to get any better.

I really need some support!  I've been stuck at the same weight for almost 4 weeks now and the fact that I seem to be going bald is just adding to my discouragement!!

Yes!  It will grow back. I had a ton of hair and also went down to normal hair.  Now it's growing back.  Google Telogen Effluvium.

Hang in there!

I am 19 weeks post op and following all of the rules..yet my hair is literally falling out by the handful! I just do not think here is a reason or an explanation.

There is a reason.  Google Telogen Effluvium as the previous poster suggested.  It has nothing to do with the WLS rules.  It has everything to do with the trauma to the body from surgery and the effects of the anesthesia they use.

You can't do anything to stop the hair loss.

I'm going through it too.  Sure hope it grows back - I've been getting my protien, vitamins and minerals..I guess it's just part of this whole process.  I have heard that it's partly due to the anesthesia.

Thank you SO much to everyone who posted!  All my nut will tell me is to get more protein get more protein get more protein but I feel like I'm eating a couple of whole chickens and a small pond of fish every day and it's not stopping it at all!  I'll just keep being gentle with it and hoping for my body to recover!  Thanks again!

Relax.....it grows back. :) Mine is still growing back and I currently have a ton! Stalls happen too! Just stick to your plan and you'll get great results!! Pay attention to how your body feels and how your clothes feel! Maybe take the time and treat yourself to a new hairstyle. Stay the course!!

Totally normal and it really sucks!!!  Hang in there! I started losing mine 6 months out for up to a year and a half.  Not bald though.... just really thinned out.
