Nearing my goal!

I am a little over 7 months out from my VSG surgery and have 16 pounds to go to get to my goal  but I may try to lose a little more.  My journey has been so positive.  I've never had so much energy and I feel so much younger.  My knees no longer hurt and I can walk further.  I love being able to shop for "normal size" clothes.  I wish I had done this 30 years ago.  I have had my ups and down, plateaus and challenges but the thought of the "new me" has kept me motivated.  Also the encouragement of my family and friends have kept me going on this journey.   This site has offered me so much advice and answered a lot of my questions.  Thank you to all of you!

I know I will make it! I'm determined.  I've been heavy my whole life and I felt awful carrying around that extra weight.  It's a new freedom I haven't experienced in a long time. Thanks

We all lose differently, so you can't really compare to others.  I only weigh myself once a month, on surgery anniversary day to not make myself go crazy.

Good luck on your journey to the new you!  You can do it.  The stalls and plateaus are a time of adjustment for your body.  Just stay on track and you'll get there.  Thanks for your note.

Bsparkee you are an inspiration to me. Keep up the good work! It is wonderful that you have such a strong support group. I have never heard anyone say they should have had the surgery 30 years ago to me that is encouraging because I started becoming heavy in my thirties. I was not a fat baby girl or a fat lady until recently. Hey well thank you.
