Hi.  My VSG surgery was on 4/4/16.  Last night I started getting the symptoms of a cold.  I have been taking liquid Tylenol Cold medicine.  Is Tylenol the only medicine we can take? I really hope that I can knock this cold out of me soon.

I had left over musinex that was kids flavored powder from when I had a lap band.  I took that to break things up and sudafed to dry things out.  I'm 6weeks out and I had no issue with that combo.  I'd recommend liquid adult musinex but that always made my regular tummy feel queezy so I still prefer the kids packs.

We should avoid NSAID medicines, so anything with Advil (ibuprofen) or Aleve (naproxen) is a no-go due to ulcer risk.

Decongestants and allergy meds are fine. You may have an easier time picking up single-ingredient meds like Mucinex, rather than stuff like Dayquil that has multiple meds in it.
