Prilosec is on that you need to be on continuously-- it's not like Tums that you can pop as needed. I'd suggest trying it for a few weeks and seeing how you do.

The "trial and error" bit of med management is pretty awful. Been there, done that! I can't keep track of how many meds and doses I've been on in the past 15 years, it's sort of ridiculous.

Have you considered online counseling? I know several people who've done it and it worked very well for them! There are therapists who'll work by phone, Skype, or even text messaging. Might be an option if you can't drive.

Hi and thank you for your reply. I have been taking the prilosec and it seems to be helping. I do believe I found the culprit though..I actually started my period so I think maybe that was what was going on? Not sure but I'm going to peg it as that.

I have considered online counseling but am unsure how much it would cost. I'm on a pretty tight budget unfortunately. I will definitely look into it though. Thanks so much and have a good weekend!

I'm wondering if it could be stomach acid, as this can mimic hunger. It might be worth trying an antacid. Carol

I would guess it's acid too, are you still on a PPI?

I take Prilosec as needed but I'm going to take it daily and see how that goes. Thanks!

Thanks for posting, I'm almost 4 months out and having same issue throughout the day.  I suspect carbs are the culprit for me....been sneaking in pretzels for the last 3 days.....craving that salty crunchy snack with my upcoming cycle.  Will cut it out and see if that helps keep the "hunger" at bay.

It's not about losing weight.....it's about gaining confidence too.  It's not about shrinking in size, it's about growing in strength
