Issues at the Airport

I have flown twice since surgery and both times had to be patted down after going through the body scan.  Both times, they showed issues with my stomach area.  Anyone else have this issue?  What could be causing it?

could be scar tissue or fluid buildup or... anything that will make the tissue in an area appear more dense than surrounding tissue will lead to a pat down. I have lymphedema in my lower left leg and every time i go through a body scanner at an airport, they end up patting down that leg.

Once I was in South America and purchased a corset.  I wore it on the plane rather than packing it and was stopped at the airport because it had metal stays in it.

I get pulled aside every time as well. My kids get quite a laugh out of it.

Most likely it is the extra skin - the  skin flap ..it may show as if you may have something wrap around your midsection.

I seemed to get padded down almost every time I fly. I got the full pat down when I was coming back from Amsterdam.

It happened before surgery also. I fly about 7 times a year. I would say it happens about 85 % of the time. I think I am just lucky. I had one lady pat me down. Then told me I smelled good. I thought wow that was creepy.

Thanks for the responses.  I thought it may be surgery related somehow.

Floppy excess skin. The person who patted me down last time asked if I'd lost a lot of weight, and he said that was the issue.
