Shake alternative?

As an alternative to the Premier Protein Shakes (because lets face it, at 2 1/2 Tbs. of protein per meal I have to have something to meet the minimum of 60g of protein per day) is there a brand or flavor or  ... of protein bar that is recommended? I am trying to get in with a new NUT and I don't know what carb to protein ratio I need to be looking for. Any help would be appreciated!

I really love Optimum Nutrition's double rich chocolate - I make it with unsweetened original almond milk.  Yum.

I've never liked the dairy-flavored shakes, but I do have good luck with the fruit-flavored stuff-- Isopure is one brand, Syntrax Nectar is another. I like the Syntrax "fuzzy navel" flavor, it mixes well with orange Crystal Light.

As far as protein bars go, you'll want to look for something with 10+ grams of protein per 100 calories, which is the guideline my surgeon gave me and others have heard as well. There aren't a ton that meet this requirement, but Quest bars work well, and I like the Think Thin ones as well.

Be careful of protein bars, though, if you've had trouble with cookies or candy bars in the past; you can treat them in a very similar way post-op, and that's not a great mental habit to be in. If you can go for dense protein, like meat or cheese, it's best, but a protein bar is a good backup option.

Thanks for the suggestions! I have also been looking for a high protein snack easy to carry around for work.  I had not heard of Quest chips so I am going to try them.

A bar with a good protein punch will sit in the bottom of your stomach like a brick.  At this time in your recovery, protein drinks are your best bet to get you where you want to be protein-wise.  Keep trying different brands and flavors.  I find that egg protein powder is much more palateable than whey.

Check out Eggface's site.... she has lots of recipes that may help you:  protein ice cream, protein shakes, ricotta bake, egg bites...........  all have lots of protein.
