Ok I have a question, how many protein shakes were u able to get in per day? Did you just try to get fluids in the first 2 weeks and not focus on the protein?

Yay!!!!

I'm 2 week post-op and still haven't been able to get all my protein in each day. It's a process. Each day I get a bit better, and some days are better than others. Focus on getting in those fluids for the time being. I just gave up on worrying about proteins, got in as much as I could, and put my main focus on staying hydrated. That's what most important.

Good luck, and take it easy. So happy for you!!!

Ok this is what worked for me after I experimented a lot. Wish I would have done it when I first came home from the hospital.

1 scoop of  isopure zero carb Unflavored protein. Mixed into a paste with cold water.

16oz of decaff coffee, 3 splendas, 2 capful of SugarFree coffee syrup (hazelnut is my personal favorite) 2 servings of liquid creamer, mthen mix the paste in. Add more syrup if you need it, as it doesn't completely cover the taste of the protein.

Gives you almost 17 ounces or a little over 2 cups of fluid PLUS 26 grams of protein.

Dont forget Popsicles sugar free! Are considered fluids too

I would mix 2 scoops of unjury or syntrax nectar into 64oz of water and just sipped it all day super diluted.  It doesn't taste like manna from heaven, but it did the trick.  Of course, YMMV.  I worried more about drinking and less about protein.

Oh, "your mileage may vary" :)

I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!

I never had any problem drinking post-op, so I was able to get all 60 grams of my protein in from day 1.

When I first came home from the hospital I had to gave 4 ounces of protein shake 3 times per day. All the water you can sip and chicken broth for the sodium. You have to have something with salt in the beginning. The drinks don't have enough and you can't function without it
