Recommended by my program, and what I am taking, is this:

It seems like a large capsule (not chewable) but since the diameter of it is less than the size of an aspirin, it works fine.  I just make sure I aim it longways when I swallow and it's all good.  You can also open it up and mix it in something and since you are on soft foods already, that would be easy to do!
