2 days post op

I'm now 2 days post op. Discharge papers are in, now just waiting for my ride to get here in about an hour! I'll be glad to be in my own home again. Tired of nurses waking me up out of a dead sleep to check my vitals. I know it's important and a part of their job, but I'm ready for a full night's sleep. One thing I need to work on is knowing when my new stomach has had enough...3 or 4 times I've spit up the water I just sipped. I'm guessing it was already full, or the gas is irritating it.

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son, that whosever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16

Congrats & welcome to the losers bench! Everything will take time. I always held the water in my mouth and swallow tiny bits at a time. When I took a regular small sip it felt weird. I was lucky and the nurses at the (crappy) hospital I was at never bothered me until about 6am. It will be so nice and relaxing when you get home. Turn on some Netflix and take a brief walk in between episodes of shows. Happy healing and sip sip sip!

I imagined my old stomach as a two-liter soda bottle and my new stomach as the cap on that bottle.  I drank about a sodacap full at a time.  The swelling goes down and soon you will be able to handle more at one time.
