Once I had surgery I started using Torani SF salted caramel in my coffee and switched to SF coffee creamer. Post gallbladder removel I now have to do FF creamer. I was having trouble locating these locally not to mention the expense of it. I finally realized that it would probably be very simple to make your own, and it is. And a butt ton cheaper, and it takes only 2 minutes. Thought I would share if anyone out there might be looking to save some money!

Sf Torani salted caramel syrup ***swap out the extract for vanilla, almond, etc to change up the flavor

2 cups water, hot enough to dissolve Splenda

2 cups Splenda (they version that you can substitute for sugar in baking at a 1:1 ratio)

Watkins Caramel Extract

Dash of sea salt

Add Splendalena to the ho****er and stir until dissolved. Add in the extract- I go by the color. It doesn't take a lot so pour slow. Done! I store it in these styled bottles and refrigerate it. (Torani has preservatives in it, and I am not sure if this stuff can be left on the counter.)

Creamer: Simply add extract and liquid Stevia or Splenda to your normal creamer. No need to pay so much extra for the store bought stuff!

That sounds great.. but.. in reality - the splenda mix is not calorie free- carb free - it has some type of bulking agent - either "fiber" or dextrose or maltodextrin (different name for sugar)

1 cup Splenda® Granular = 96.0 calories and 24.0 g carbs.   2 cups would have 48 gr of carbs.

if you do - try a mixture of erythritol and stevia. Stevia itself has a weird aftertaste.  I like stevia - but even for me - too much and I can't use that.

erythritol -is a SA but it is one that most people  tolerate rather well (I do not)  and itsi suppose to be real 0 calories.

I have never bought erythritol- I will track some down on Amazon and give it a try. I like Stevia Ok, but it is a very fine line between sweet enough for me and bitter from using too much.

some of the commercial stevia are a mixture of stevia and erythritol.

any "dry powder" stevia - is typically mixed with other things. read the small print. Some is "so called fiber" some use dextrose (sugar) some use erythritol.  Always check the small print.

For anyone reading this, if you want to use stevia:

2 cups water hot enough to dissolve

1/4 cup stevia (powder form)

Stir until dissolved, add extract.
